Dometic's CARB-compliant sleeper air conditioning systems are designed to provide a minimum of 10 hours of operation to meet federal HOS mandatory rest requirements. The systems run on 12-volt power from a bank of absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries, eliminating the need for a separate diesel-powered APU. They consume no fuel and produce no emissions or annoying engine noise. A built-in low-voltage cut-off circuit ensures that the batteries will always retain sufficient capacity to start the truck's engine.

Dometic's air conditioners are offered in 7,000 and 10,000 BTUs/hr capacities to meet the requirements of small and full-size sleepers. Unlike low-powered "bunk coolers," the Dometic systems cool the whole sleeper compartment, even in hot climates. The HVAC components include an externally mounted condensing unit and interior compressor-evaporator unit with reusable precharged quick-connect refrigerant linesets, plus ducts, grills and controls. The turnkey package also includes a 2,000-Watt inverter, high-performance alternator and a bank of AGM batteries.

The price is less than most diesel-powered APU-based systems, and the battery-powered solution is virtually maintenance free with no moving parts aside from the air conditioning components.
